Listen, the cleaners were great. They didn't finish and there was an attempt to hustle me out of more money. That isn't fair. And, then tried to get me to pay. I tipped the women in cash because they were great.
There were three cleaners and they basically whizzed through the house, concentrating more on finishing than on cleaning. They were trying to exist so quickly that they told me they were done and were basically out of the door while in the kitchen one woman was still wiping down stuff. "But how can you be done when one of your workers is still cleaning?" I asked. I had paid extra for my stove and fridge to be cleaned. The front and top of the door to the oven were still grimy. I pointed it out and the woman begrudgingly cleaned it. The bottom of one of the vegetable drawers in the fridge remained uncleaned. When I asked her why it was still dirty, she said that it doesn't come out. Except that it does; you just have to also (quite easily) remove one of the mini-shelves attached to the door and then the door will slide right out. Obviously no effort was put into that. I also noticed that all of the dishes (I'd had a dinner party the evening before, hence my willingness to pay extra for the kitchen to be properly cleaned) were in the dishwasher. I never use the dishwasher and don't even have any dishwasher soap, but...these cleaning services boast that they bring their own products so I figured that maybe they'd brought their own dishwasher soap. Still, I couldn't remember ever hearing the dishwasher running. I asked the woman if the dishes in the dishwasher were clean; she said yes. Oh, and I speak Spanish fluently enough to erase any potential language barrier, so it was not that she did not understand me. I asked, "Are you sure," she said yes again and then quite literally scurried toward the door to join up with her co-workers. After they were gone, I opened the dishwasher and started pulling out dishes. Every single one of them was dirty and I had to wash them by hand--the very thing I was avoiding. Also, there were dishes they'd put in there that were not fragile and not dishwasher safe so when all is said and done, I am actually glad that they did not run the dishwasher. I'm going to write a Yelp review about Cleanify because they subcontracted these people and they are horrible. At least one of those women has actually "cleaned" my place before through another company, which is why I made the effort to find a new company. I have written mainly about the kitchen because that was the place that upset me the most since I'd paid extra for it to be cleaned. But the master bathroom was also not properly cleaned, especially the tub. And because I had my receipts from my taxes scattered about in my home office, I told them they didn't have to clean in there, meaning that the proposed square footage was less...yet still they moved like molasses in order to rake in the time. It was a horrible experience. Never again.
